If you're new to cloth nappies (also called washable nappies, real nappies, reusable nappies, cotton nappies...!) you'll find lots of information on these pages to help guide you. Don't worry if you find it a bit baffling at first: I am more than happy to help you make sense of it all. Just click here, to go straight to our cloth nappy advice pages. I remember having lots of questions when I first tried cloth nappies, and am more than happy to advise you. Please be reassured that your questions are individually answered and directly addressed, and I will do everything I can to help you find the right cloth nappies for your baby. I would normally recommend, if at all possible, for you try a range of cloth nappies and wraps on your baby in your own home, using the Plush Pants Cloth Nappy Trial Scheme.

Just a brief word about the colour of our cloth nappies. Many of the washable nappies I sell are made of unbleached cotton. This means they come in the natural, rich creamy colour of cotton straight from the loom. All cotton starts out this colour, and then some is bleached white. The reason I sell unbleached cotton nappies is that cotton is a very intensive crop to farm - it requires a lot of pesticides and fertilisers, and is usually farmed non-organically. Buying unbleached cotton nappies means you have avoided an additional layer of chemical processing, and of attendant chemical waste and pollution. All my unbleached cloth nappies have eventually washed to white, which means that if you buy unbleached cloth nappies you will get white nappies usually within a dozen washes! Incidentally, if you want to keep your washable nappies that glorious, creamy, unbleached colour then use a deep green laundry detergent - one that contains no optical brighteners.

If you think you know what you'd like, but you'd prefer to try them out before you commit to a big purchase, then please do have a look at the cloth nappy trial section - it can be invaluable to try the cloth nappies in your own home first: after all, you may find your baby's preferences are very different to yours! My aim is to help you to use cloth nappies, if at all possible.
