| Washable baby wipes may not be something you have considered, but I find the savings in cost alone to be well worth the minimal laundry effort! You can buy special wipes or, if you have a sewing machine, you can easily make your own from old towels, or muslins. Or why not use face cloths?
You can use washable wipes with plain water or make your own lotion to use with them. Click here for some recipes which I use with our wipes.

Reusable baby wipes, with unbleached long loop terry on one side and soft microfleece on the other, these no nonsense compact washable wipes are ideal for out and about, measuring roughly 6x4inches. Sold in packs of 10 - simple, effective, what more can I say? They certainly work a good deal better on dirty bottoms than disposable ones, and you can just pop in the wash with the nappies.

Washable cleansing pads from Scottish manufacturer, Love the Planet. These are designed for facial cleansing and make-up removal, and one of my local customers also informs me they are brilliant for topping and tailing a new baby! The reusable cleansing pads come in a pack of 5 and come with a little mesh wash bag.

Gorgeously soft organic flannelette baby wipes, edged in either pink and red cotton (Rose), or blue and green (Ocean). Approximately 25cm square, these are absorbent and soft, ideal for cleansing baby's bottom, and can be washed with the baby's washable nappies too. Can be washed at 60-90 degrees C.
